The Age of Vibeware
Why we're not a traditional software company anymore
By Greg Marmulak · 2026-10-13

We had a realization at ForecastWorx.
We're not a traditional software company anymore. We're a Vibeware company.
And I think we're witnessing the emergence of an entirely new category of technology companies.
At ForecastWorx, we don't have a traditional development team. Instead, we've embraced an AI-native approach to building technology, where human creativity, experience, and judgment are amplified by AI.
We have ideas. We have AI. And we execute.
We're building, improving, testing, and delivering capabilities at a pace that would have been unimaginable just a couple of years ago.
Faster, more efficiently, and with the flexibility to turn ideas into working solutions in remarkably short periods of time.
Traditional software development has given us incredible innovations, and many of its engineering principles remain essential. But AI is creating an opportunity to rethink how we apply those principles, how teams collaborate, and how quickly we can deliver value.
And that got me thinking...
Why are we still judging technology companies by what's under the hood instead of how well the car drives?
Think about your car. You buy it. You drive it. You love it.
You don't pop the hood every morning to admire the engineering. You care about how it performs, how comfortable it is, how reliable it is, and whether it gets you where you need to go.
And when something goes wrong? You take it to a mechanic, they fix it, and you're back on the road.
AI is becoming that mechanic for Vibeware.
Except this mechanic is available 24/7, can understand complex systems, diagnose problems, implement improvements, and increasingly build entirely new capabilities on demand.
So why should software be any different?
At ForecastWorx, we care about four things:
- Does it perform exceptionally well?
- Is it intuitive and enjoyable to use?
- Does it make people's jobs easier and more productive?
- Do our customers genuinely love using it?
If we can check those four boxes, why should anyone care whether a feature took 10 developers three months to build or AI helped us deliver it in three days?
Of course, security, reliability, testing, and quality still matter. They matter enormously. In fact, AI gives us opportunities to strengthen these disciplines while dramatically accelerating development.
The real innovation isn't just using AI to write code. It's rethinking the entire business of building software.
We're not trying to replicate a traditional software company with AI tools.
We're building a Vibeware company that operates fundamentally differently.
One that embraces proven engineering principles while continuously exploring better, faster, and smarter ways to deliver value.
One where people focus on the vision, the experience, and the outcomes, while AI takes on more of the heavy lifting.
And one where the measure of success isn't how much code we write or how many developers we employ, but how much value we create for our customers.
Software was defined by how it was built. Vibeware will be defined by what it makes possible.
And at ForecastWorx, we're having an incredible amount of fun proving that.
Welcome to the age of Vibeware.
"We're not just watching the shift. We're building in it."
The Takeaway
Article summary
We are moving beyond traditional software development to a Vibeware approach that prioritizes outcomes over engineering effort. By using AI to amplify human creativity, we can deliver superior inventory planning solutions faster than ever before.
